This used to drive me mad with my iPhone 4s with an external bluetooth
keyboard. I think I was using the stowaway at that time!
What phone are you using? And is the IOS up to date? What is the model and
version of the keyboard?
Like you, I found that I could stop the behaviour by turning off the phone
and restarting both it and the Bluetooth keyboard.
Have you tried breaking the Bluetooth connection in Bluetooth settings and
then reconnecting again from scratch?

Hi all,
The Apple Bluetooth keyboard I use with my Iphone has for some strange
reason suddenly decided to type most letters twice as I type & when I
poweroff my phone it will then work fine for the first time but then reverts
back to mostly double letters after that. It is not batteries as I have
