I'm more curious than anything. but have you tried typing with voiceover off.
if the letters repeat this way then its not an accessibility issue. This issue
is really intriguing me.

letters so don’t think the keybloards are the problem. I am checking out

I’m intrigued by this problem! I missed what brand and model of keyboard you
are using. Would you like to tell me? I’m using a logitech mini iPad case
without iPad and a Zagg folding pocket Bluetooth keyboard without any
problems. I am running IOS 10.3.3 on an iPhone 7s.
While I don’t think the model has anything to do with the problem, it would
be interesting to explore other people’s experience of this doubling.

Strangely, the double typing bug seems to be a feature.
For some inexplicable reason, Apple have key repeat set way to fast as
default, causing most useres to experience multiple character input when
short pressing keys on their hardware keyboards.
This can be fixed by going to:
Settings > General > Accessibility > Keyboard > Key Repeat
There you can either turn key repeat completely off. But then long pressing
keys will not repeat them at all. So No long pressing the backspace to
quickly delete all the text in a search field for example.
Or you can play with the key repeat interval setting and try to find a length
of time that will prevent single key presses from entering multiple
characters on your hardware keyboard.
I've also reported this to apple, but they don't seem to be interested in
changing the default settings over multiple versions of IOS.

Yes I have tried all that with no luck. I am using iPhone6 & using an apple
keyboard with no problems until now. I also have another one called the Rii
Mini Bluetooth Keyboard which I rarely use but have now tried this also to
get same result, double letters & figures. When I use keyboard on the phone
no problem at all. I am up to date but now wonder could this be a
problemafter updating as I see another mail on the list with a different

This used to drive me mad with my iPhone 4s with an external bluetooth
keyboard. I think I was using the stowaway at that time!
What phone are you using? And is the IOS up to date? What is the model and
version of the keyboard?
Like you, I found that I could stop the behaviour by turning off the phone
and restarting both it and the Bluetooth keyboard.
Have you tried breaking the Bluetooth connection in Bluetooth settings and
then reconnecting again from scratch?

The Apple Bluetooth keyboard I use with my Iphone has for some strange reason
suddenly decided to type most letters twice as I type & when I poweroff my
phone it will then work fine for the first time but then reverts back to
mostly double letters after that. It is not batteries as I have changed them
