Hi Paul

Thank you for that. It pays to ask the question as that has been bothering me for a while. My collogues were impressed also.... They think I'm very knowledgeable, I didn't tell them how I found out how to do it. Yet.

I've made a big discovery today which I think has been holding me back a little. That is, that the delete button is not the same button as the backspace. I've only been using a computer for about eight years 'dah'

Cheers

Edel..

Hi Edel,

I know  this problem and here is what I do;

1. While typing in the email address of someone in the "To: field" I stop
typing as soon as the incorrect address comes up.

2. I now select the line of typing I have just completed. This line may only
contain simply the few characters I just typed in, this is normal so go
ahead and just select it.

3. Press the delete key on it and its gone.

4. Now begin typing again and if another incorrect entry comes up, just
repeat the above steps till only the "correct" email address exists.

This will then hold true for any future email addresses you need to get
rid of.
Note: Just remember to have full admin rights to this portion of the
computer. I am not sure if using the above instructions will work if your
computers email program and contacts lists are locked down.

Paul.

Hi All

Here's a question regarding outlook and addresses.

I have lots of old addresses / no longer functional address in my outlook
memory at work. There could be three email addresses for one person of
which only one is correct.

When I start to type the email address, the three options will appear so
what I would like to know is how do I delete the wrong and no longer
functional ones from the memory of outlook. The addresses I would like to
delete are not in the address book.

I think someone suggested to me before to use C cleaner but I'm hesitating
as I very much like the autocomplete option for all the addresses I have
without incorrect autocomplete options..

I'm not sure if I've explained this one well.

Here's hopeing.

Edel..

Hi Joan Ann,

Unfortunately Outlook doesn't behave in the same way as Outlook Express
when
completing names.

What you need to do is start typing the person's name and then press
control
and K. This will bring you to your address book and hopefully, will also
bring you to the desired name you want.

Then, simply press enter.

After you do this once for each address outlook will remember the address
and auto fill it for you.

I hope that helps.

Stuart.

Hi all
I have just started to use Microsoft Outlook. I was just wondering how to
set it up so that it will auto-complete addresses like it does in Outlook
express?

Thanks
Joan Ann.
