Hi Eleanor, Fair point. On the other hand look at the price. Do you really want more than 1000 tracks on at any one time? This unit is also being designed as a companion for students with its very convenient note taking facility. OK your Iphone will give you a lot of the facilities like date and time but the looping facility here is unique. Also you cannot browse your music in original folders on any mp3 player I have seen unless you overwrite the original firmware in the unit with something like Rockbox. Also this unit has a built in screen reader that is as good as Talx any day. So come on! For Eur 50 approx!
