yes it is fairly normal to have to turn off the external keyboard but if you
have an Apple keyboard you can press the top right key and that key is to show
external keyboard it is also a cowgirl key so you can show it to a stop showing
it. I think it may be some other Bluetooth keyboards have this facility but not
all of them.
