Hi Paul.
Yes you can switch, on my Logitech the switch button is on the top right but
the @ button should be the shift and the number 2 button press together.

yes it is fairly normal to have to turn off the external keyboard but if you
have an Apple keyboard you can press the top right key and that key is to
show external keyboard it is also a cowgirl key so you can show it to a stop
showing it. I think it may be some other Bluetooth keyboards have this
facility but not all of them.

Hi all,
Just wondering when you are connected to and using a bluetooth
keyboard on the iPhone can you switch to the phone keyboard in the
middle of typing a text or email? For example, the other day I was
sending an email using the bluetooth keyboard but as I couldn't find
the @ symbol I wanted to type it in from the phone keyboard but when I
double tapped on the address or tried to type the phone keyboard
wasen't showing up. When I turned off the bluetooth keyboard I was
able use the phone one. Is this normal as it would be nice to be able
alternate between the 2 keyboards at times.
Kind regards
Mairead
