Hi Joe,

B B C I Player is blocked in the Republic of Ireland.

While not catch up, you can access the U K Tv channels live on your i phone via the voice over accessible Filmon app.

Scroll down to U K Live T V, double tap and you can access approx 50 U K free to air channels like B B C 1, 2, 4, 5, I T V 1, 2, 3, 4, Channel 4, Channel 5 etc.

There is no audio description I'm afraid.

There is a low cost mobile phone provider called Lyca mobile who do an unlimited calls, texts and 20 gig of data per month offer for 15 Euro at the moment.

Their D N S servers are based in the U K and a friend of mind has B B C i player on his i phone working on Lyca.

However at 250 megabytes per hours or more of data, your data would probably go fairly quick.

If you are looking for audio description, a free to air satellite system install would pick up over 50 U K free to air channels.

B B C, I T V, Channel 4, Channel 5 etc have approx 30% of their programming with audio description.

Another option would be to subscribe to Sky for 12 months on their 29 Euro a month basic package and cancel your subscription, you would then be left with the dish/set top box and some U K free to air channels including B B C 1, 2 etc.

Channel 4 on demand is accessible in the Republic of Ireland.

I have used the following web site with firefox and screen reader to access audio described contents including Homeland, Deutschland 83 and many more. Although there is a Channel 4 on demand i phone app which is voice over accessible, there is however no audio description functionality available.

I hope this is of some use.

Best wishes,

Barry.
