The solution Vincent gives is excellent. I have recently deleted a contact I
did not want any more and then I went to messages and started writing his name
and it came up! thanks Vincent we never stop learning.

another way to find a lost contact if its not in your recent calls list. is
to type in the first few letters of there name into the contact part of a new
text message then scroll down through the contacts that appear and you should
find it presuming you have texted this number before. and yes a full restore
does reset all setting on the phone. and this takes ages if you need
anything else just ask.

No I haven't! What's a full restore? Is that to reset all settings?

i agree with Eleanor. if you've recently contacted this person they may
still be in your recent calls so you can put them in that way if you can't
recall the number.

I would simply put it back in again manually.j if you want to restore from
iCloud then you are restoring absolutely everything on your phone. just go
to contacts and add new contact and put in the details again. of course if
you don't know the details and cannot obtain them easily again then a full
restore will be necessary.

I accidentally deleted a contact from Contacts on my iPhone, and I want to
restore it again to my Contacts. Backup is on, so how do I add it back
again to my Contacts? I’ve been in iCloud, but can’t seem to find an
option for what I’m looking for!
Many thanks.
