I haven't submitted in years, literally. Is that an option for the submitter, too? I still don't have clear in my mind if the quality rating given when books are submitted are given by a bookshare automatic rater or by the submitter. In either case, you all have brought up some problems. I still would like to see no rating until it's given by the validator. That way validators will take books without being misled one way or another and can fairly quickly tell, perhaps, if a book is only Fair, by looking for page breaks and doing a spell-check to see if there are a lot of junk characters or scannos; whether all the pages are there if they aren't numbered would take a little more time, but then the validator could just release the book if he/she didn't want to do more, such as check first and last lines of pages, or decide it looked o.k. to validate.
