Hi,
We're talking about books that just have blank spaces to tell a reader
when a new chapter starts. What we have agreed on is that four stars
are used and then the proofer or submitter would bold them and enlarge
them. Also at the beginning of a book there would be a note saying
that the four stars indicate a new chapter.
