The original premise of Bookshare was that people would submit scans of books they had made and presumably enjoyed. I have rejected several books today. They all were rejected for the same reason. Lines were truncated. The submitter did not hold down the book hard enough on the scanner to keep it flat. Thus many words are cut off near the binding at the ends or beginnings of lines. Such truncating makes a book unreadable. I hope the appearance of the new manual will increase the quality of submits. Validators simply can only clean up so much. A bad submit is sometimes impractical to fix up.
