Dear all,

In my view, the most important function of the simple bowing gesture in constellations is for dividing the fields of the client and what or whomever he or she is facing. It is empowering to step into one's own field. It is useful to help clients discover how resourceful their own field is. It is respectful to emphasize that we have different fields than others. It is a primary engagement with life itself when one looks up from the simple bow and sees from the perspective of one's own field.

It doesn't take but a second or two to simply let one's chin drop one centimeter, and noticing one's exhale to turn the attention towards oneself. In that moment, mind, body and spirit are in unison.

It is a critical skill for facilitators to know how to come out of their trances by returning to their own present field. Likewise, it is critical for facilitators to know how to teach clients how to come out of their trances and back into presence through this simple gesture.

People tend to go into the field of anyone into whose eyes they look. Children grow up in the field of their parents and often never learn how to separate fields, have boundaries and become adults. Without boundaries there is a lack of emotional clarity. Boundaries define relationships and organize fields. They are critical on the biological, psychological and spiritual levels.

Namaste,

Thomas Bryson
