Bert Hellinger has made statements about soldiers actions as you say. Bert
has the habit of making authoritative statements that sound like absolutes
in the context of a constellation and then stating the opposite just as
authoritatively in the context of another constellation. That is just his
style.
If you read the introduction to Loves Hidden Symmetry it is made clear as to
why he does this. Gunthard Weber states that Bert was worried that others
may use his words as "revelation of the truth or confirmation of their
prejudices" Later Bert is quoted as saying "The best can't be said. The
next best will be misunderstood." So self contradiction is an inoculation
against these tendencies in his followers.
Regarding your particular fellow, if you have already adequately dealt with
the trauma, it would be interesting to set up a doll constellation with his
victims and representative for the warring countries and see where it takes
you. The aim of such a constellation would be to see where in the system his
guilt really belongs and to place it appropriately. If it is his then
carrying it should make him stronger. If not then he needs to respectfully
hand it back to where it belongs.
An interesting aside about soldiers is that in World War II only 40% of USA
soldiers fired their guns in battle as they couldn't bring themselves to
kill another. Subsequently the USA army changed their target practice
training and used human shaped targets the fell over when hit. They also
focused more on long distance killing. By the Korean war 70% fired their
weapons in battle . In the Vietnam war the number climbed to 90%.

Subject: [ConstellationTalk] Culpability of soldiers
I am a GP with a Vietnam Veteran patient who carries guilt for his actions
in the war. I have a recollection that Hellinger has something specific to
say about this and I would apprecaite being poointed towards information
that I could share with my patient, to give him a FC perspective. My
understanding is that actions by soldiers carried out in the name of the
country do not carry the same implications at a personal level.
