Thankyou Max
Your posting of the Dresden Cathedral I found very moving.
I was born in England with English and German ancestry. My parents and
grandparents served in both world wars. My Grandfather of German descent
owned a bomb-making factory in London during WW2.
When I visited my mother (she is 81) in London after participating at
Zist
last year she asked me how I enjoyed my first visit to Germany. Then she
said "we should never have done it". I didn't have clue what she was
talking
about. The 'it' she explained was to bomb Dresden. I was quite surprised
(that is as surprised as the English can be) to hear her say that, with
such
caring for the German people. She had lived through the Blitz.
I particularly appreciate the part in your posting regarding the alter and
the cross.
I cry with you.
