What a fascinating development! It was interesting to note that the
statement implies absolutely no deep systemic conflict, just the lack of
systemic energy to make it happen.
In the U.S., our constellations community is built of many individual
facilitators and trainers, many of whom are connected in informal networks,
but no single organizational body that connects us. It's interesting to
consider the ways this reflects underlying patterns in our field, and the
ways in which shifts in those patterns could benefit us all.
In that context, I¹d like to let everyone know that we are ON for a North
American conference in 2015 in San Diego this fall. One of the primary
interests of the planning team is how to sustain an ongoing community and
conversation in the North American context. We¹ve been exploring how to best
create that community, and we hope to bring a special effort to seeing what
the field in this region is ready to birth amongst us, and to be pro-active
midwives of that birthing. We welcome your participation and feedback as we
grow our national and international communities!
As we know more, we¹ll be sharing that information. The work is still quite
preliminary (and exciting!). For now, we can announce that the co-directors
are myself and James Woeber. In the context of the work in the U.S., we¹re
both ³third generation² practitioners, which we think actually creates some
room for creating a dynamic conversation about both our traditional
inheritances and emerging innovations.
The planning team can¹t wait to share more as our vision and groundwork
proceeds. If you feel so inclined, we¹d be grateful for your well-wishes and
prayers.

Thank you Sheila for your heart felt thoughts about iISCA
We can't complain about the organization's demise if we have
not been active trying to keep it alive and relevant.
On the local level I have benefited from and contributed towards
the educational and mutual support activities of systemic facilitators
in the Washington, D.C. area. Our meetings are small, about 10 or 12
facilitators, some established and some starting out. The informal
yet interactive nature of our relationships connected to the workshops
and coaching we offer and the learning we want to share, keeps our
process alive. Being affiliated with a national or international umbrella
organization would be ideal. Perhaps in the future something will take
ISCA place in an organic manner to fill this need.
This model of local and national/international levels and linkages is common
with
various practice groups. The Mankind Project and the Organizational
Development
Network are two groups I belong to that use it. There are many others.
So I regret the passing of ISCA but do believe eventually something will
take its place
if this work continues to evolve and grow as I believe it will.

It reminds me of an orchid someone gave me years ago, that had dropped it's
blooms, and was just a pretty green plant. To me it was no less beautiful
without the flower, and it was no less an orchid either. I just started
placing 3 ice cubes once a week on the soil, and within a year, it bloomed
more profusely than ever before. Then the blooms dropped, it is once again
"dormant", but I continue to have 3 ice cubes once a week placed on the soil.
I have no doubt that it will bloom again.
In this way I consider ISCA. I believe that there is tremendous value in the
organization, for many people, and the inertia of only a few doing all the
work, is the usual way of the traditional system. ISCA did not escape this
fate. For me, this reflects a common flaw in most systems, and does not
diminish the value, integrity, place or opportunity that is ISCA.
I am interested in how others feel about this turn of events.

Hi everyone
For those of you who don't know ISCA is the International Systemic
Constellation Association. It is the umbrella international organisation for
systemic constellation work.
Below you will find an email sent out to all its members calling for a vote
to dissolve ISCA. Dissolution requires 75% of voting members to vote yes for
the dissolution.
This has been instigated by the board without any process for debate or
discussion being set in place. The internet voting process amongst members
has now been opened by the board. Voting will close on November 7.
As this is a significant development in the field, I invite anyone who wants
to, to use constellation talk to discuss the relative merits of keeping ISCA
going or shutting it down.

Dear Christopher Walsh,
ISCA¹s Board and Lutz Bessel our Business Manager have been involved over the
last months in an intense process, discussion and debate regarding ISCA¹s
future. This process has included physical meetings, online exchanges and
several Organisational Constellations that have helped us clarify the
dynamics, options and decisions regarding our organisation.
It is now time to share this process with all members and request their
support in the decision we have unanimously reached.
First a brief summary of the facts:
* ISCA was founded in May 2007 and legally registered under German Law as a
non profit organisation. Current membership has remained stable at around 250
for the past 4 years.
* Over the years a number of initiatives have been launched, originating from
the Board, from ISCA¹s two gatherings and from suggestions received from
members. These have included: Research Project, Curriculum Documentation,
Ethics, Project Sponsorship. After some initial interest and support, actual
member involvement in these activities at any one point in time can be counted
with a single hand.

* The income from the annual Membership fee of Euros 60 is not sufficient to
cover the expenses of an organisation like ISCA, especially regarding its
possibility to fund website developments, research and other activities to
further ISCA¹s objectives and development. To illustrate this point the
difference between income and expenses for 2011, 2012 and 2013 has been
respectively EU 2.759, (6.942) and (5.836).
The Board observes lots of activity in the worldwide Constellations community
and given the previous assessment, has reached the conclusion that although
there is energy, interest and activity regarding Constellations, the time is
not yet right for an open, all inclusive organisation like ISCA. It is
possible that the field still needs to mature into a clearer structure of
national organisations and possibly also, there will at some point be a
requirement for an international body that helps to regulate our activities.
This is well beyond ISCA¹s terms of reference and the vision and mission that
have guided us.
Call for online General Assembly to dissolve ISCA
As a result of the process and discussions outlined above and in accordance
with ISCA¹s Charter of Association the Board is convening an Online General
Assembly to be held between October 19th and November 2nd, 2014. At this
General Assembly, members will be asked to vote on the Board¹s proposal to
DISSOLVE the Association in accordance with the process established in the
Charter and according to German Law. You will receive via e-mail the necessary
instructions regarding the online secure voting procedure. For its approval,
the proposed dissolution requires 75% of the votes issued at this General
Assembly.
The Charter establishes that any funds remaining after dissolving the
Association shall be donated to: ³Häuser der Hoffnung Schulbildung für die
Dritte Welt, gemeinnütziger e.V., c/o Weber, Schlosshof 6, D-69168, Wiesloch,
www.haeuser-der-hoffnung.org <http://www.haeuser-der-hoffnung.org> , which
shall use them exclusively for charity purposes². This charity¹s name in
English translates as: ³Homes of Hope Schooling for the Third World² and its
activities are mainly based in Mali (Africa) where it teaches young girls
competencies that improve their work prospects.
It is also important to note that the International Systemic Intensive held
annually at Bernried (close to Münich, Germany) will continue under the
organisation and leadership of Lutz Bessel.
The Board¹s proposal
The ISCA Board and its Business Manager have unanimously reached the
conclusion that ISCA is not at this time a viable organisation and propose to
this online General Assembly the Association¹s dissolution in accordance with
ISCA¹s charter.
In case of this vote being approved by 75% of voting members at the Assembly,
the Board will be mandated by this General Assembly to complete the
Association¹s dissolution as established by its Charter and by German Law.
This mandate will extend if necessary beyond the current Board¹s period that
expires in May 2015.
If the vote is not approved by the necessary majority, the Board will call for
the election of a new Board and hand over its mandate in May, 2015.

Membership and renewal fees
Between now and November 2nd, 2014, member registration and renewals has been
suspended. If dissolution is approved, membership and renewals will no longer
be available at the ISCA site. If the General Assembly does not approve
dissolution by the required vote, membership and renewals will once again
become available.
