Hi All,
I hope it is fair to say that a great part of Hellinger's genius lies
in having synthesized aspects of many people's work into an organic
whole that is unprecedented. It does not detract from his
achievement, in my opinion, to say that he learned and borrow freely.
In a world gone mad over specialization, true integrators are rare and
in many ways what we need most. It's that new, higher-level whole
that brings the wonderful "emergent properties" that are healing so
many.
In our poster presentation for the Conference "Towards a Science of
Consciousness," held in Stcckholm May 3-7, 2011, Dan Booth Cohen and I
acknowledged six influences on the formation of our modality.
Zulu Shamanism--the sense of ancestral presence and importance
Virginia Satir--family sculpture
Milton Erickson--trance work and brief therapy
Arthur Janov--primal therapy
Joseph Moreno-pyschodrama
Ivan Borszomenyi-Nagi--the concept of invisible ancestral loyalties
These are are all coupled with the philosophical stance of European
phenomenology and then the social, people-first perspective picked up
from Anglicans (if I remember correctly) during Bert's stay in
Africa. I believe Eric Berne (transactional analysis) may be relevant
here as well as to the balance of giving and taking

We will be discussing Hellinger's biography, with Dan taking the lead,
in the free constellation call on Jan 31st.

What is The Constellation Call?

Greetings -
A reader pointed out that the photo used on the Family Constellations
Wiklpedia page shows everyone in the same color tone of clothing and
sitting
on cushions. This suggests that Constellations are a religious
ritual or
identified with a particular spiritual path. It would be more
representative
to use an image that is more neutral. I do not have a suitable photo
in my
possession. Wikipedia does not allow photos grabbed off the Internet
used
without permission.

Does anyone have a suitable photograph? You are welcome to place on
the page
yourself. If that is technically challenging, send an attachment or
link to
Dan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and my intern will load it.
Wikipedia, allows anyone to edit the text. Feel free. Or that could
be a
task for a small number of CT members to take on.
