You might have the loaded audio clip set to be processed through one of the 
other engines.

Select the clip once you've loaded it, press F4, and select clip properties. In 
that dialog, go to the Time Stretching tab. Make sure that groove clip is 
checked. Other check boxes will appear once groove clip is checked. Try those.

Loops don't follow the project's key signature. They only follow a base pitch 
(like a tonic), and you must add those (C is the default). You drop in pitch 
markers like regular markers, with the F11 key. If you tab through that box, 
you'll notice there is a combo box for setting the pitch that will be selected 
when that marker is reached.
