Yeah! They all run on your regular alkaline 9 volt batteries, mind you, some of the Monte Allums modz are real power drains , so I recommend either incorporating them on to an FX pedalboard, or using a regular 9v p s u...
Truth be told, the Monte Allums modz are probably my favorite ones out there, & they're really cheap!
His BD-2 H2O mod is the perfect blues pedal, unlike the horrid regular Boss edition, this mod really is transparent, the gentle very tube-like break-up is priceless, costing no more than 30 bux!
I've got a John Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive pedal, which with the import duty, + the modifications I paid for when I sent it back to Florida, cost me 'round £500 sterling, &, yes, it does sound good, but the Monte Allums mod I had installed to an old BD-2 cost me a 5th of the price and kicks it right outta the park!

I just returned my Pinnacle Deluxe, the boost button made a loud clunk, but, its really a metal pedal, don't you think? If you're after a lo break-up pedal, try some of the LovePedal stuff, it really is classy, especially, the Amp 11 & the Kalamazoo! If you've got any old Boss pedals hanging 'round, like a Boss SD-1, check out a guy called Monte Allums, his mods are very lo priced, but sound incredible!I could site you another 30 pedals, but, to be honest, I'm already boring myself, & this is one of my fave subjects...grin!l8r----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Smart" <csmart8@xxxxxxxxx>To: <ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 13, 2012 9:42 PM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Line 6 Pod HD500 - It's Very UseableHi Mike. For the bluesy slightly broken up stuff, I still try to get that from the tube amp itself. My favorite distortion pedal though is definitely a Brian Wampler Pinnacle II. It sounds like a cliche to say this, but it really is Van Halen's early sound in a box, or at least about 80% of it. Into a good amp it sounds amazing!Chris --------------------------------------------------CTS MASTERING: PROFESSIONAL MIXING AND MASTERING!
