Sounds like you may need to look at sound cards in device manager. Try
this.

Press Windows key and the letter R. This will open the run dialog box.
Then type:

sysdm.cpl

Now control tab to get to the hardware tab and tab over to the device
manager button or press the spacebar or, click on the "Device manager"
button with a mouse to open it.

Scroll down to sound video and game controlers and see what is installed.
If you have had a power outage then it's possible that something has
become
damaged on your motherboard such as the sound chip.

Okay, we did that and the default soundcard is sellected. And when she
went
into the control pannel and into sounds, it said the device could not be
found.

Hello everyone.
This morning we had a power outage that lasted for at least 4 hours.
Before
that everything was working fine, the computer and the yamaha moxf. The
power only came back on a while ago after beeing out since 7:30 this
morning. I have the rowland quod capture audio sound card as well. The
computer , and speakers are working as i can hear sounds from them.
Unfortunately there is no longer any sound from jaws or the keyboard. My
mom
says the screen is working and jaws is coming up on the screen. But there
is
no sound whatsoever. Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on
here?
