Damon: must be doing something wrong. I'm starting out with the first
performance on the Motif from the factory called syber step. When I hit F2
and do what you say I don't get bank changes or patch changes. Am I
starting out at the wrong place, I know you said to start from an
initiallized performance, is that something different than I'm doing.
Thanks for all your help. John

Wow. I do this all the time, but somehow can't seem to think of the steps
at
the moment due to fogging of my brain. If you start from an initialized
performance, press f2 to go into the part where you select your sounds on
each part. Part 1 should already be selected and have a piano patch
assigned. If you don't want that patch, use the left arrow to get to the
bank selection, then press inc or dec to select the bank, then press right
arrow to get to the patch selection and press inc/dec or the wheel to
select
the sound. Once you have the sound selected, you will want to assign the
key
ranges. If you hold down sf4 while pressing a key, this assigns the low
end
range of the part. Sf5 while holding down a key selects the high end
range.
So, for instance, if part 1 has a piano souned, you can split it at middle
C
by holding down sf4 and pressing middle C. This will cause everything
below
middle C to be silent and above to have the piano sound. Then, press down
arrow to select part 2, and press sf1 to bring up a new sound for part 2.
Then repeat the procedure.

Has anyone donea tutorial on making a performance on the motif Es7? I'm
looking to simply make some splits, organ and brass etc. Can't seem to
follow the manual on this. I don't want to change effects from the
original
sounds or anything that complkicated.
If there is no tutorial, could someone just quickly give me the steps,
including storage? Thanks in advance. John Fioravanti ----- Orig
