Phil replied: can't blame Cakewalk for no longer supporting Sonar 8.5.3 as
it's what over 5 years old now. Anyway, you are running a third party
product on top of Sonar so Dancing Dots are the people who I am sure are
trying to help you troubleshoot this and ultimately would be liable at least
from a support stand-point as indeed I am if I install software and supply
support on clients systems.

Phil replied: I hear your frustration. I also think you are being a bit
harsh on Bill over at Dancing Dotts. Having been involved in beta testing
Cake Talking I must say that there are a lot of good people including David
Pinto, the beta testing team, George over here in the UK and Bill at Dancing
Dotts who spent a lot of time testing out CT before bringing it to market. I
also know that when installing systems, things can get in the way that can
cause issues. For instance if you have something in the system tray such as
a screen applet they can inadvertently mess things up. Also, it's possible
that a dialog box in Sonar could have been accidentally opened such as Audio
Snap, step Sequencer Step record etc. You would probably only find that if
you crawl around with the Jaws cursor.
Some questions for you. Which versions of Sonar, Cake Talking Jaws and
Windows are you currently running? Knowing all of the above may help us to
troubleshoot this further.
