Are you actually recording from a stereo source, i.e. if your recording via a microphone then are there two of them, or if an instrument input, then do you have two actual channels of input? If so, then you need to be sure the track source is set to an audio input that has two channels. Often an audio interface will have several entries in the list of available inputs, one for each channel individually, and then one additional input for each stereo pair.

I often record single channels of input (i.e. direct from my electric guitar amp), in which case I set that track to mono by setting it's input to the particular interface channel I'm using. When I do this, however, and monitoring with headphones, only one channel comes through the phones. To mitigate this, my interface has a switch which when on, sets the direct monitoring to mono; this let's me hear the guitar in both channels as I'm recording it, even though it is only using a single channel. The actual mix from sonar is not effected; I still hear this in stereo.

Hope this helps.

Good morning everyone.
Each time I try to record an audio track using Sonar, I only get sound out of
one speaker as soon as I arm the track. The only solution seems to be to press
the interleave button on each audio track to set everything to mono, but I
don't want to record that way if I don't have to. I came up with this solution
by reading section 7 of the Caketalking manual, but perhaps there is something
I missed. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
