You mean a p55 chipset? That means you have the i7 800 series in a 1156
socket perhaps. That chipset is ok, but not the best for audio work... Have
you done any bios update or something of that nature in the last few months?

Hi. the mobo is either a p52 or p54, I don't remember which, but I do know
it's sixty four bit compatible.

Is this the i7 daw you were speaking of earlier? Knowing Scot from ADK,
they probably used a gigabye or intel mobo on it, there might be a driver
issue there.

Hi. It's firewire. I have a TI firewire chipset and I turned off the 1394
network adaptor.

The Motu and the presonus were both firewire and I had no issues with
latency.

Project mix uses USB or FireWire?

Hi. I had it custom built by ADK and had no issues with it whatsoever when
I was using my Motu 896MKIII and then my presonus firebox. The problems
started when I got the project mix, but, when I got it working, it was
working fine for a while.

The only external things I use are my flat panel display, which is never on,
my Epson scanner, which is off unless I am using K1000, the project mix,
which is always on, and, the edirol 1x1 USB midi interface.

I only have one machine right now so I know I am going against well known
advice as I've got it hooked up to the net and I have avast and Microsoft
office installed. But, I've been doing that since I got the machine over a
year ago and that didn't cause any trouble.

I have automatic updates configured to tell me when updates are available,
but that's all.

Thanks,

Cameron.

Did you build yourself? There's a bunch of different configuration issues
at the bios and windows level that I can think of that could be responsible
for that behaviour. What other software/hardware do you have
installed/running on there?

Hi. seperat I believe. OS is windows xp pro 32 bit sp3.

I just did a system restore to the day before this started happening and the
issues with jaws not reading text fields in sonar is fixed. However, I am
still having this crazy soft synth latency issue. It happens with the
project mix midi ports and with my USB 1x1 midi interface. I just timed it
and it's exactly five seconds, even with just true pianos loaded. I have a
quad core I7 processor and three gigs of ram so the system should not be
taxed at all. Before I could have a project with a dozen soft synths loaded
at once and I had no latency issues.

Any idea what could be causing that?

Thanks,

Cameron.

Is that video card built-in or separate? What OS?

not working etc.

Hello all. this is getting extremely frustrating. here's a recap in case
anyone missed this before.

About a week ago, I started seeing some major problems in Sonar 8.53. when
you go into any text field, jaws just says blank. For example, the go to
dialogue or insert tempo dialogue box. Also, when you go to layouts from
the view menu, instead of reading what the choices are, jaws just says
nothing selected.

When I try to use an hsc set, even when I check that the correct set is
active for dimension pro for example, whenever you do a hot spot command, it
starts to say what it is, like program browser for example, but then, jaws
is interrupted by a system sound and jaws then says windows cannot be
recognized.

Also, when you try to virtualize the screen in sonar, jaws only says no
text. I don't see anything with the jaws cursor in terms of error dialogue
boxes or other windows that should not be open etc.

Further to this, I am now having the same soft synth latency issue I was
having with the project mix external midi ports, even though I am now using
an E-mu 1x1 USB midi interface. this was working fine until this other
stuff started happening.

This is what I've done so far... I reinstalled the jaws video intercept,
ran a registry cleaner, reinstalled hsc, tried the latest versions of JSonar
as well as ct, and this evening, I uninstalled then reinstalled sonar,
updating it to 8.53 producer.

After all of that, nothing has changed. I am running out of options here.

When this started, I was working the night before in sonar and everything
was fine. and the next day, all of this started at once it seems. I did
not install anything new between those two days.

Any suggestions? Should I uninstall then reinstall jaws?

I can't do a reformat and reinstall of windows right now because I don't
have any sighted assistance around so am looking for any other things I
could try for now.

Also, I tried updating the NVDIA g force 9400 gt driver but according to the
update driver utility in the device manager, I have the current driver
already.

Thanks,

Cameron.
