Hey Mark,

First, when you installed Sonar beginning with 8.0 and sequentially patching it
up to 8.5? Then you have to run it at least once before installing CakeTalking.
Next, after you've successfully got CT installed, you have to configure the
control surface; it should tell you to do that upon running Sonar immediately
after installing CT. It should tell you to press Ctrl+F-12 to configure the
control surface. If you're screen resolution is set correctly, everything ought
to work. It'll tell you if it's not. There's a utility in the CakeTalking
sub-menu that will check your screen settings and set them for you if it needs
to.

That's all I have. If I've missed anything, somebody jump in here and have at
it. Hope you get up and running soon.

Mike

Subject: [ddots-l] Trouble with new installation

Trouble with new installation on Win7 machine.
I am retiring my old xp machine, 12 years old, has done a great job but it is
time.
I have everything installed, Sonar 8.5 patch 3 along with caketalking.
Here is the first problem I have encountered.
When I use the f8 and f9 to select a section of an audio track, and using
control enter, unable to use such things as copy delete and so on.
However, if I do an alt enter select all, everything works.
Also it is constantly screamming for me to press f6.
I have already deleted everything and started and completed the second
installation.
No change.
Most likely, this is just the begining of my headaches.
Do these things ever go without a hitch without a huge battle?
Thanks hope you all can help.
Mark
