Hey Mark,

One thing you're doing incorrectly is that you're trying to use F-8 as part
of the selection process. The F-7 and F-8 keys move you to the From and
Through points respectively; F-9 and F-10 set your from and through points
respectively. Ctrl-Enter will select the region defined by the From and
Through points you've set, provided you did it correctly.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Trouble with new installation

I have Sonar producer 8.5 with patches 2 and 3 installed.
along with Caketalking 8.5.
I have Jaws 11.
My Win7 machine is a 64 bit.
My first installation of Sonar was in 64 bit mode.
I thought that might be the problem.
I uninstalled everything and re-installed Sonar in 32 bit mode.
No change, works the same.
Everything works fine except one item.
I have an audio track open.
For example, I move to bar 4, press the f8 key to select.
Move to bar 6, press f9 to select.
I have bars 4 through 6 selected.
Here's where it goes wrong.
When I press control plus enter it says track 1 selected and other tracks
unselected.
Normal right?
However I can't edit the bars in any way, such as delete copy gain or
anything.
Here is a work around I have figured out.
First, on the track, I press alt plus enter, this selects the entire track
and unselects all other tracks.
Now I can move to the bars I want to select using the f8 and f9 keys.
Do not press control plus enter.
Everything works delete copy gain etc.
I have gone through with the setup menu for Caketalking for Win7.
On my Xp machine, you have to use the control plus enter after using the
f8 and f9 keys.
Maybe I'm fussing for nothing and Win7 is different.
Mark
