  Steve,

If you save your project to another location and if you use the Per Project
setting then a new folder is created on your backup drive with all the files
you need.

However using any other backup software to copy .CWP files to some other
place will not automatically copy the relevant audio and wave files with it.

I don't use the Per project feature and so when I back up my drives, I back
up my "Cakewalk" folder (where all MIDI and Cakewalk files live) and the Sonar
folder found on my audio drive. To save space on the backup, I first use the
Sonar cleanup tool to clear out any project wave files that are no longer
needed.

    Hi all,

This maybe an obvious question but, if you back up all of your projects,
does the computer take all the deleted audio files and save them to your back
up drive or does it know just to save the audio files necessary for your
projects?

They are the graphics that appear in your project such as the envelopes,
etc. that we can't use with traditional access tools. I delete them all every
few weeks or so.

        Hi Phil,

I trust all's well with you.

I've got a question; Just what is this picture cash folder anyway? I've
got almost 2000 files in there; when I scrolled through it to see what sorts of
files I had, they were various extensions, but they were names of past projects
I had since moved to a storage drive. Many of them represented edits and
recordings of tracks and so forth. I didn't dare delete them because I didn't
know what I might do to mess up projects.

        Take care.

        Mike

Open up the picture Cash folder in Windows Explorer and press control
A to highlight everything then, Shift Delete to get rid of everything. Also,
James is correct. You should periodically use the clean audio folder to clean
out deleted audio that you have used in projects.
