Agreed, Phil. That's how I save my projects, each in its own folder.

Not so sure about that. for example, bundles can fail. Have known that
happen here on rare occasions. if a bundle fails then, you lose everything in
that project where as if you use per project folders and even if the .cwp file
fails then, you still have the related audio data so you could in theory,
rebuild a project from scratch. Sure you would still lose the MIDI data
however, that's better than losing everything.

  Hi Steve, James here.

If you bundle your audio and midi files by going to save as bundle, your
chances of losing your work will diminish. You might want to just create a
bundle folder, which is what I do when I create several files when I know it's
going to put a load on my system.

  Hope this helps.

  James

  Thanks Phil,

Took a look at the audio clean up last night, I opened a project, pressed alt
L and arrowed down once to put me on Clean up and entered on it.

I tab to the "Find button" and press the space bar, this put me on delete all
history and delete clipboard. I wasn't sure whether I should press ok on that
or not so cancelled. and went to bed.

Phil is it OK if I call you on Monday? just give me a time if Mondays' ok
with you. I have loads of finished and unfinished projects on this computer so,
can't afford to take chances of losing hundreds of hours of work with my
limited knowledge.

Steve. If you haven't used the clean audio tool on your project folders
then, Sonar will back up everything you have copied, including the unwanted
audio files. Also, if projects are running with a lot of latency and you are
getting drop outs then, it's time to use the clean audio tool. Give me a call
and I will be happy to explain all of this in a lot more detail.

    Hi all,

This maybe an obvious question but, if you back up all of your projects,
does the computer take all the deleted audio files and save them to your back
up drive or does it know just to save the audio files necessary for your
projects?

They are the graphics that appear in your project such as the envelopes,
etc. that we can't use with traditional access tools. I delete them all every
few weeks or so.

        Hi Phil,

I trust all's well with you.

I've got a question; Just what is this picture cash folder anyway? I've
got almost 2000 files in there; when I scrolled through it to see what sorts of
files I had, they were various extensions, but they were names of past projects
I had since moved to a storage drive. Many of them represented edits and
recordings of tracks and so forth. I didn't dare delete them because I didn't
know what I might do to mess up projects.

        Take care.

        Mike

Open up the picture Cash folder in Windows Explorer and press control
A to highlight everything then, Shift Delete to get rid of everything. Also,
James is correct. You should periodically use the clean audio folder to clean
out deleted audio that you have used in projects.
