If you want to record midi. Try inserting a soft synth like the
cakewalk tts1 and play your keyboard to see if you are actually
sending midi data.

when I press record in sonar and try to play it back, it says the
track is not recorded. I may not have done something properly in sonar
to activate the midi, I'm not sure, I can hear what bank patch and
channel I'm using, it does tell me that, but I can't capture any
sound. I truly appreciate all of your advice, and your patients with

talking tutorial, it isn't necessary to arm a midi track. Is that not
right? I have successfully recorded the audio from the casio using the
normal left and right outputs in to an audio track, but it doesn't
seem to be sending or receiving midi information. I talked with Bill
on the phone, and he said to call the casip people. Maybe there's a
button on the casio I need to press in order for the midi to work. I
have no trouble recording a regular audio track with it, but I can't
seem to get this midi thing going. I have had this thing for quite a
while, but never tried to connect the midi before now. Do I need to
use both the regular and midi conections to record a midi track?
