        A turn is an ornament  which turns about on a note. The best way to 
describe it is with an example: if you have a fifth octave d
chrotchet with a turn on it, you play e d c and d as semiquavers, so those four 
notes make up a quarter note. I think you can also
make them go the other way with another symbol, so c-d-e-d would be played in 
the previous example. The sign for the turn is dots
2-5-6; I can't remember the sign for an inverted turn.
