I've found a partial solution for getting turns and mordents to be realised in playback. Instead of entering turns with f10, press alt+u to go to plugins, press enter on playback and then select ornament playback. You can only see the mordent/turn option with tab/shift tab, but if you left and right arrow, you can select whether to include the symbol, whether the turn/mordent is chromatic, ETC. The source code for the plugin is found in ornamentPlayback.plg, under the main sebelius 3 program folder under plugins/playback. I haven't figured out how to make the check boxes visible with jaws when using tab/shift tab. I've also found that you can change the name or location of the plugin to make it easier to access in the menus. I copied it to the main plugins folder of the sibelius program folder so I wouldn't have to enter the playback menu to access it. The plugin appears to play turns and mordents correctly, but does not allow the sharpening or flattening of individual notes in the turn. The conventional turn symbol with a sharp attached seems to be the only thing that works in this case. I just did some poking around, found the answer in the Sibelius hotkeys file included with sibelius speaking. (Note, the information about inputting symbols in the sibelius help file seems to be inaccurate, at least with respect to the designated short-cut.) Select the note in question and press F10. This pulls up a dialogue in which you can select various symbols including mordents, turns, and inverted turns. Each symbol is described so that it is clear you are getting what you want. The turns don't seem to be realized in the Sibelius playback, but you can tab to them in the score to confirm that they are there. I hope this helps, Bill S. ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
