I hear his reasoning on the kick thing, I know we've been using the new Yamaha
Subkick mic, which is amazing when used with at least one other mic. It's a
very large diaphram mic, that captures the fullness of the kick, and you get
the attack of a normal mic placed inside the drum. I just thought you were on
a limited number of mics, so I tried to give the solution I've used.

Wow, four mics for the kick. I've never heard of that before, but I'm used to
working in places and with people with only a few mics to spare. Impressive
though, I'll try it someday, when life offers an upgrade package. Just out of
interest, why four mics on the kick? And why only one on the snare? You could
use two, one at the bottom and another at the top part of the rim? Well, I'm
obviously feeling extra inquisitive today.

Rod, the more mices you can use, the better. I would use aminimum of 4
mice for the kick, 1 for the snare and 2 overheads. If you have any extra
inputs left then, close mice the toms as well.

I have a delta 44 card, and I need to record a live drummer, any tips on
how I can go about doing this?
I have a Yamaha mg 12 channels mixer, and a one channel presonus
