No But I do not like the fact, with hardware once I do the take I own it. In sonar with using the software you can change the effect before mix down. You can redo the mix even after the mix down and do it again. You can not do that unless you have to go to a lot of patch trouble. It is not werth it to me. ----- Original Message ----- From: Omar Binno To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, September 22, 2008 4:23 PM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: software vs external compressor Do you notice any difference in the type of sound it produces? I stick with my software it is easier to use. I like to know the numbers and where they are. I also love the presets you will not have that with out a real high end piece. I do not even know if they would have that feature on the thing. I would stay with Sonar and what it has to offer. ----- Original Message ----- From: Omar Binno To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, September 22, 2008 1:50 PM Subject: [ddots-l] software vs external compressor Hello, I'm considering purchasing an external stereo compressor/preamp. What are some of your thoughts/experiences regarding software plugins/compressors vs external hardware ones? Will the external ones produce better quality compression, (make things sound warmer,) than plugins will? Thanks. Omar Binno www.omarbinno.com
