64 bit is better than 32 bit systems. the flexibility is higher. regards Johan _____ Van: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Namens Bryan Smart Verzonden: vrijdag 15 juni 2012 8:36 Aan: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Onderwerp: [ddots-l] Re: strange behavior The /3gb switch can make it possible to access more of the 4GB max memory available to a 32-bit system than the 3.25GB or so that is normally available. I'm not certain why, but Jaws always used to crash when I tried to use this switch. Conclusion: If you really need more than 3GB of memory, then upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows. Whenever I bounce an audio track to clips or whenever I frees a soft synth, some of my other soft synths that are not frozen will begin to play with a very choppy glitching sound. I have to close the project in order to get them to play normally again. The only thing that prevents this from happening is to frees them. can anyone tell me why this is happening? It happens with dimension pro and with Psym 2 and with pentagon. I'm thinking that this may be a memory issue. I'm running sonar on windows XP pro 32 bit and my CPU is a duel core Intel with two gigs of ram. A friend told me that in order to take advantage of the four gigs available I need to either get windows 7 or upgrade to a 64 bit motherboard. Is this a memory issue? If not how do I resolve this issue? May the Peace of God which passes all understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. God bless you!
