Changing slashes to number signs makes some sense, but it I'd prefer having a representation similar to the print. What's the British date format in a computer braille context? And while I'm thinking of it, I've read telephone numbers using dots as well as dashes for separators. i.e.724.765.3210 or 800-555-8355 so maybe there needs to be a phone number style as well. - Mark -----Original Message----- From: George Bell [mailto:info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, April 17, 2003 1:08 PM To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] Dates - was Re: George visiting Duxbury Hi Terri, I don't know about American Braille, but in British rules a date such as 04/04/03 or 04-04-03 is written without the separating slash or dash. However a number sign is placed there instead. I can however see the logic in developing a "date" Style, but if it was done, Duxbury would normally insist that it follow the precise rules of braille. However, you've raised a valid point, so I'm copying this to the relevant rule King at Duxbury for comment.
