Please ignore my previous message.

I inadvertantly left out some information. Please accept my
apologies.

George, that would normally be the correct way to do it. But, what
happens if your keyboard does not accept 6-key entry in order for you
to type what you want?

The big drawback with my suggestion below, is that you have to know
the correct ASCII keystroke that will produce the correct braille
representation of what you want. Having said that, it is possible! I
do it all the time! So, here goes with the explanation.

If your keyboard does not accept six key entry, you can also type what
you want by using the ASCII characters that represent the grade 2
braille characters as follows:

By default, DBT is in 6-key entry when it is installed. So, in order
to be able to use the full keyboard entry within a braille file, you
must press the <F2> key to turn off 6-key entry or you can turn 6-key
entry off in the "global view" menu.

Assuming that you are in the table of contents generator in version
10.4, press the <TAB> key until the cursor is in the field where the
word "chapter" is the default word.

Press the comma key, this represents the dot 6 (capital sign) in grade
2 braille. If you want the word "title" to be all capitalized, then
press the comma key twice.

Now type the word "title" by using the appropriate letter keys.

If the default word in the edit field was "title" and you wanted to
change it to "chapter", you would type it as follows:

, * a p t ]

Do not type the spaces that are shown in the above example. I Placed
them there for easier understanding, particularly, if you are using
speech.

When you press the comma key, this represents the dot 6 (capital sign)
in grade 2 braille. If you want the word "chapter" to be all
capitalized, then press the comma key twice.

The star or asterisk key represents the contraction for the letters C
and H.

The next 3 letters a p t, are typed by using the appropriate letter
keys.

The Right Square Bracket, represents the contraction for the letters E
and R.

If you want the word "page" to be all capitalized, tab across to the
field where the word "page" is displayed, place the cursor on the
letter P, then press the comma key. This will give you the second
capital indicator.

Sincerely:

Dave Durber
