Somehow I'm missing something about what you are trying to do.
As a sighted person, when I enter print in Word or another editor I almost
never look at how it is lining up; I just let the application line it up for
me. I haven't use a typewriter with a margin bell for over 30 years.
I'm not a transcriber but when I want to produce braille, I let DBT take
care of translating from print and lining up the braille.
