.dxb is *proprietry* to Duxbury braille, although the latest BN can recognise them. . .brf files should open up in OpenBook fine. If you or someone can, you could open the .dxb files in Duxbury then file import them to .brf. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ray Campbell" <ray.campbell@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2008 4:28 PM Subject: [duxuser] Odd Problem, Can You Help Hello All: Here's one for you. I am trying to help a client that needs a way to translate books formatted in Braille files, like .brf or .dxb, into text files that she can listen to on her computer. She has a Braille Note that does not work at all and that she cannot afford to get upgraded. Someone suggested I try opening Braille files in Open Book. So, before talking with my client I decided I'd experiment with doing just that. When I went into Open Book, then selected a Braille file in DXB format to open and pressed enter on it, the file did not open. Instead, it was printed to my default printer, wasting a lot of paper. Does anyone know if you can open .brf or .dxb files using Open Book and if so, any special ways to do it? I would especially be interested if one can open these files in Open Book if you don't have Duxbury as my client does not.
