Hi George

I'd love to know how workable this would be with dbt.

I don't want everyone getting too excited, or hot and sticky
about this news just yet, but I may use the fact that I'm
taking time out to test it, as an excuse for not doing
something else - like mowing the lawn. (Smile)

It appears that Office 2003, due to be released later this
year, may have an option to display those dreaded PDF files.
Moreover, they (Microsoft) claim it will be in a Word
editable format. In short, you will be able to make
changes. No prizes for guess what others who get PDF files
on a regular basis are thinking.

Now I have to seriously emphasise that this news has only
just reached me, and I have yet to try the application out
in anger. I don't even know if it will be a chargeable
extra. I don't know yet if it will be workable with DBT.

However, since today has brought up the subject of resources
and features, some of you will perhaps appreciate the
dilemma I am now in. How far up the priority list do I/we
put this?

I can't say, "Stop the new release!". But my own personal
view is that I want to know as soon as possible if it will
benefit DBT users. Around one third of our transcription
comes in to us in PDF files.

(Anyone found a solution to the 30 hour day yet? - Smile!)

George Bell.
