Susan,

I can't see any good reason why they would, even though I can see how it would benefit the people you mention. Keep in mind that a specialized version involves additional programming, and someone has to pay the folks who write the code. Maybe if Duxbury were a big enough company, they could pull that off, but it's not really practical given their resources and the size of the market for specialized braille translation software.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average US salary in
the 1st quarter of 2005 was almost $40,000 per year.  This contrasts
with an average Russian salary of $3600 per year.
