This discussion fits in with something I have been wanting to ask. I am
working on a project, which I hope one day will be realized. It involves
teaching computer braille skills to visually impaired students in India. (I am
sighted.) The software programs I would be using are Duxbury, Jaws, Windows
XP, and WORD, and the computers would have to be laptops. Here are the
questions I hope someone can answer.
1. For those on this list who are visually impaired, is there a brand and model
of laptop computer that works best for you?
2. Probably an auxiliary keyboard would need to be used because of the 6 key
entry. If so, what keyboard do you recommend?
3.The laptop would need to have a connection for the keyboard. Does the laptop
you recommend have that, or do all laptops have that connection?
4. Are there any other software programs that are helpful for basic computer
braille training.

To those who answer this, thank you so much for your help.

             Sandy
