Deb,

Just open the braille document in DBTW and press Control-T. Your document will be back-translated into uncontracted braille. It will, of course, be computer braille, so if you want it to appear in "Grade I" you'll have to insert the [g1] code at the beginning of the back-translated file. Then, press Control-T, just as you would have done with a print file.

I should warn you that back-translation doesn't always work as expected, so you should check the results before proceeding.

Crazy question but: if you already have a grade 2 document and all of a
sudden find that you need to have it in uncontracted braille, ... can that
be done? I know how to do it if I have a dxp document but wasn't sure if it
was already a dxb.

Thanks,

Deb B.
