For the examples given, dots 2,3,6, there is no ambiguity. The word was is
represented by dots 2,3,6 and is the question mark. However, the was must
have a space on each side of it, the question mark must not have a space
between it and the last letter of the sentence. The opening quote may have a
space before it but not after it. Similar rules apply to the other examples.


Duxbury seems to do an excellent job at translating this words properly and
for the most part adheres to formatting rules set forth in "English Braille,
American Edition, 1994", currently under revision. Braille is changing, ever
so slowly, just as the rules of grammar and syntax change in print.
