Hi Jean, I had a conversation with Joe Sullivan this evening and I asked him about the [tns][tne] codes. The codes are intended for our translation tables, and are now the preferred codes for the TN symbols. Obviously, I recommend you use these codes. Joe said the q code should be used as a last resort. I'll be revising the next template to use the [tns][tne] codes. An easy way to create the code is through the DBT Code menu in the Word BANA template. Select the DBT Code base and replace __ with q~,' making sure the apostrophe is the straight apostrophe (or copy it from the e-mail). Going through the menu this way, the code will be hidden text, which means your screen reader can ignore it if desired. When you create the AutoCorrect, choose the formatted option if you want to keep it as hidden text like the other DBT codes. Another option is to use AutoText, but for this purpose, I think it's easier to use AutoCorrect. I do like knowing what's going on behind the scenes so to speak. I like the [[*q~,'*]] approach and will edit my file with that. I had read about the [q] code but I hadn't figured out the parameters of how it exactly worked. Thanks, Bruce, for being right. (smile).
