I produce Braille books for my state's library for the blind. Each volume starts on the next logical page, instead of starting over with page 1. Here is the number one rule to consider when voluming: ALWAYS start your volumes on an odd numbered page. If the previous volume ends on an odd numbered page, insert an extra blank page, which will have an even page number, then start the next volume on the following odd number. This will ensure the proper formatting of books, where the even-numbered pages are on the left side of the book, and the odd-numbered pages are on the right side. Let me know if you have any more questions. The bindery in which I volunteer has a question that seems to be controversial. When a book is more than one volume what are the current rules. Should each volume begin again with the number 1 or should the second volume begin with the logical number that would have followed the last page of the first volume. If you could also cite the place where the ruling is printed that would be helpful. I am in the US so the rules that apply here would be the rules that would follow, I guess. Barb
