Hi

I have several queries about a document which I'm transcribing.

In the original file, the print page numbers are listed as for example
1-5 to show the section of the book as well as the page number. So in
my example, print page five is part of section 1. Another example is
3-20 showing that print page 20 is in section 3. My queries are as
follows:

1. I have several pages where I need to hyphenate the page numbers to
join them because of a picture on the facing page. This makes the
already hyphenated numbers in the document a little confusing. I want
to change the existing hyphen between the numbers to something else
and thought of using a period, so the numbers on pages where I need to
join them would look like this: 1.4-5. Has anyone else struck this
before and how did you deal with it. Personally I think their page
numbering system is a little weird and it would be much simpler if
just the page number was included rather than including the section as
well. I hope I've explained this clearly enough.

2. How do I stop the ruller used for the print page indicator
appearing on line 1 of a page? I have the print page code and it's
relevant number as the very first thing on the page but have the print
page indicator appearing on line 1 in a couple of cases. I have the
latest version of dbt.

3. I suspect my next query has something to do with the odd numbering
system used in the file. I've discovered that I'm not always getting
a print page number in the top right of my page. I'm guessing this is
because the page number is too long or something. I don't have a
running header so the first line of text should be able to adjust to
fit the page number in the top right corner. How do I correct this.
I'm tempted to just take out the section numbers and leave the print
page number alone there. The other thing that is affected is the a or
b etc placed before a page number if it continues to a new braille
page.

If I did take out the section numbers and make this change, should I
include a transcribers note to that effect or is this sort of change
ok to just go ahead with. My thought would be to include a note
because if a sighted teacher is helping the braille reader, this would
alert the braille reader to the change and perhaps avoid confusion all
round. What do other list members think?
