Hi all,
You may think I am stupid! but when I want to change to grade 1 put in a hard
space and put in double lines do I put in the codes before I translate or
before? Also do I have to select the text.
I am just learning this and am getting a little confused. Thanks for the help.

You might want to use hard spaces between your letters.

  from HELP
The braille translator normally automatically removes more than one space
between words.

A hard space "forces" space where you intentionally want additional spaces to
appear in Braille. DBT won't break lines at hard spaces the way it might at
ordinary spaces..

An example of this is where, for ease of reading, you do not want a telephone
number to be split over 2 lines.

To insert a Hard Space, place your cursor where you want to have a Hard
Space, and press Alt+F2

  It produces a [']

And as for those double lines. ...

  Layout: Line Codes: Double Spacing.
  Keystroke: Shift + F2

Double spacing inserts a code to treat each line ending as two line endings
so that text never appears on two adjacent lines, as is common for children's
books.

  It produces [svsbl1]

  Happy brailling,
  Warren

I am trying to help a friend and it's not working.
My problem is, we are using DBT 10.5, we have created a document in DBT and
have put triple spaces between each letter and double lines between each line
of text. This is a lesson for learning to read. When we translate it into grade
one Braille it takes all the spaces and lines out and also puts a semi colon at
the beginning of some of the letters.
Can you tell me what is wrong and how I should fix this. I know someone out
there will know. Thanks.
