[duxuser] scientific notation

I have a new upcoming and extremely bright
algebra/chemistry/calculus/geometry student. Has anyone ever worked with
scientific notation? Will duxbury do the same thing as scientific
notation? Any suggestions as far as training, purchasing and etc. Any
input would be helpful. Thanks for your help.
