Pranav,

I'm not sure what you mean by "clean" the image. I'll describe how we're using it in a bit more detail.

We have used Infty Reader to assist with converting images processed via our tactile graphic software. In doing so, project staff have figured out the tricks of using this new OCR software to better capture math information.

The core function of our software is its ability to recognize and excise text and math within images, removing it to be processed as a separate OCR step. This means that the OCR software, whether Infty or something more mainstream, doesn't get confused by the graphical elements and produce excessive errors. More information on our project can be found at http://tactilegraphics.cs.washington.edu/

Once the information has been captured using math OCR and converted to LaTeX, we then use Duxbury for translation and reinsertion into the graphic as Braille. Duxbury translation software is a key tool in helping produce tactile graphics from textbooks accurately and efficiently.

Hi Daniel,

How do you clean the image for use with Infti reader?
