I am assuming that you are using a windows 10 PC.
1. Depending on your sight, consider using high contrast and or adjust the
screen brightness.
2. Can you control the light around you?
3. The use of the magnifier app will make everything on the top of MS word
bigger and more accessible. You can google how to set that up.

That shortcut is supposed to increase the font size by 1 point. If it
works, then keep repeating the keystroke until a sufficiently large size
emerges.
