The App Store has a sidebar you need to interact with to choose a category or
search the store. Interact with it and navigate to the search area to look for
Catalina.

Great minds think alike. One of the first things I did
was create a second account and give it administrative rights
also.
I want to roll it back to Mojave anyway as the system
worked pretty well and it still has some querky behavior now
under catalina.
When I go in to App store, I can't, for the life of me
seem to find the screen that lets me log in using the applid. I
need that to download the Mojave installer for which I have a 16
GB thumb drive all ready to go.
When I bring up App store, I am immediately bombarded
with stuff from App store and I can tab up to a button with my
name on it and, when I click the button, it says no purchases.
No big surprise because I haven't restored anything yet
and that window doesn't take me to "Sign in" or anywhere useful.
I did sign in once yesterday and that's the last time it
worked on App Store.
Oh, the hoops you have to jump through to get things to
work.
